Daily Roundup, 8/1/2010

–Jason Michaels pinch hit for Brett Wallace.
—And hit a grand slam.

–The Tigers now have a worse road record than the Mets.
—The Mets did manage to lose 14-1 at home today.
—–To the Diamondbacks.
——The Diamondbacks have five wins since the All Star Break.
——–All have come against the Mets.

–The Mariners are on pace for 526 runs. The Yankees, who were shut out today, already have 563

–Cliff Lee is averaging 8.17 innings per start this year. (via @truebluela)
—This is somewhat predictable given Cliff Lee’s impending free agency.
—-Even so, it took him 160 (!!) batters in a Texas uniform before Lee walked someone.
—–And actually, Cliff Lee lost today.

–There were five home runs hit in the Cleveland-Toronto game. If you add up the totals of the other four that hit home runs (15+2+3+3 = 23), it’s still nine less than Jose Bautista’s 32. No, this hasn’t gotten old yet.

–CC Sabathia lost today. It’s the first time he’s lost in August since 2007.
