Daily Roundup: 6/23/10

You may have heard that crazy stuff happened in sports today. Here’s what happened in baseball.

–Dustin Nippert struck out seven hitters in three innings. He also threw 82 pitches and pitched ONLY three innings.

–In the first inning of the Yankee-Diamondback game, four of the six outs were recorded on the bases. Right now the Yankees have drawn nine walks in five innings…and are losing 4-2.

(And now, so much later, with that game won, just check this out. I can’t explain it.)

–RA Dickey is now 6-0 with a 2.33 ERA.

–Stephen Strasburg struck out nine, got his first career hit and lost.

–Albert Pujols went 4-5 ….and the Cardinals scored 1 run.

–Jose Reyes hit his sixth home run and sixth triple in the same game.

–Darnell McDonald & Daniel Nava tonight vs. Ubaldo Jimenez: 4 for 6 with 1 2B & 1 HR, 5 RBI, 2 runs.

–You have to see the last play in the Dodger’s game. The winning run scored, only the umps said the runner at second was out before the run scored, thus, game over. Oops.
