Daily Roundup: 6/9/10

Some games are still in progress

–The Cleveland Indians batted around in the eighth inning against the Boston Red Sox…and they did so before making their first out. (They went on to score eight runs in that inning).

—-Justin Masterson, against his former team: 9.0 IP 2 H 0 R 0 ER 2 BB 6 K. It’s by far his best outing of the season.

–By the fifth inning’s end, the Chicago Cubs had hit five home runs.

–David Price threw 104 pitches in six innings while walking five…and gave up just one run.

–The Blue Jays have one run in their last eighteen innings…and it wasn’t a home run.

–Miguel Cabrera has 53 RBIs thus far. To get an idea of how crazy that is, Robbie Canó has a .376 (!!) average and 46 RBI.

–The White Sox scored 7 runs apiece in two different innings.

–Ryan Zimmerman was caught stealing for the first time since August 2008 (he was 3-3 since then).

–As I write this, Minnesota has scored six runs, but no more than one run in an inning (they’re in the eighth).

–The Yankees and Orioles have combined to leave 21 runners on base. The Yankees won 4-2. (The Yankees have ten wins against the Orioles. The Orioles have 16 wins against everyone)
