Daily Roundup: 6/4/2010

Some games are still in progress; this post may be updated as they progress

–Jose Bautista hit his 17th and 18th home runs tonight for the Toronto Blue Jays. The 18 home runs is a career high, and it’s June 4th. That’s a pace to hit over 40, assuming I can do math properly (which is no guarantee, of course)

–AJ Burnett’s line starts: 6 IP, 6 runs, 6 hits.

–The Tampa Bay Rays, who are 21-6 on the road, actually lost a road game today in which they let the Texas Rangers score seven runs in the fourth inning.

–The Nationals and Reds each had twelve hits…and combined to score just six runs. Gives ‘runners in stranded position’ new meaning, huh?

–Matt Kemp stole a base–he has seven steals this season, against eight caught stealings.

–Adam Wainwright pitched a CG shutout of Milwaukee. Surprisingly, it’s the first time he’s done this in his career. Perhaps not-so-surprisingly, it’s his third complete game of the season. (Thanks to Stats LLC for that one).

–Felipe Paulino finally got a win for the Houston Astros. He’s now 1-7.
