Shortened schedule today, and sadly no 19-inning games, so this is rather short!
- Micah Owings got his first win since 2009 against the Rockies today.
– At Coors Field.
— He didn’t get a hit though.
—- The Rockies are now under .500. The Diamondbacks are above .500 – and in fact only 1.5 games back of the Giants in the division.
- Micah Owings might not have gotten a hit, but you know who did get a hit? Carlos Zambrano. Actually he got three, including a double. He was 3-for-3 against the Mets today.
– He pinch-hit during Tuesday’s game against the Mets, too, and got a hit. So he went 4-for-4 against the Mets this series.
- Ryan Vogelsong allowed just one run in eight innings… and got the loss.
- The Red Sox won a game 14-2 for the second day in a row.
– Carl Crawford had two triples.
— He’s actually 8-for-9 with two doubles, two triples, and a home run in the last two games.
- h/t @sammillerocr, the Angels have been 22-22, 23-23, 24-24, 25-25, and 26-26.
- the White Sox beat the Blue Jays on some unearned runs, but Adam Dunn struck out four times.
– I found it surprising that this was only Dunn’s 12th career 4K game.
— …but it’s his second in a week.
